Metro Elevator - About Us
Is experience important to you? If so, Metro's elevator constructors typically have a minimum of 15 years experience with commercial and / or construction elevators. We are licensed in several states, including Michigan, which has one of the most difficult licensing exams in the United States! Metro Elevator Co., Inc. was established by Charles & Rita Ernstes in 1970.
OFFERINGS
Metro provides a complete line of safe, rack-and-pinion elevators needed in multi-floor buildings undergoing construction or renovation. Metro also has two sister companies Indiana Elevator Inspections and Consulting, Inc. and Indiana Residential Elevator, Inc. Metro has provided temporary hoists to many power plants and industrial facilities throughout the United States during outages planned for maintenance.

FAMILY OWNED
Charlie Ernstes II first started helping his father, Charles Sr., at Metro, when he was 10 years old. After high school, Charlie went to Purdue University and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. He began working for Metro Elevator installing elevators in 1984. In 1994, Charlie became the managing vice president, he held this position until becoming President in 2006.
