Metro's Additional Options and Accessories
Base Platform with Ramp or Stairs The standard size base platform is typically 8' x 8' with a 30' ramp connecting to it.  Metro can sell or lease any size base platform with a customized ramp or stairs.  A shorter ramp or stairs is sometimes necessary when spacing is tight.
Maintenance and Service Agreements Metro can service and maintain your elevator to reduce and minimize downtimes anywhere in just about any state across the country.
Union Installers and Repair Technicians Whether your project requires union labor or not, Metro uses installers and service techs that are certified by the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) .  All elevator mechanics are licensed in various states.
Full-time Operators Metro can provide a full-time operator that can perform maintenance or minor repairs.
Intercom Systems Intercom communication between the operator, the base platform, and all landing gates is important (if not required by code) to ensure the safety of your workers.  Metro can lease or sell you the intercom system you require.
Tie-ins Securing the elevator tower to your building sometimes requires specially engineered tie-ins.  Metro Elevator's fabricating shop has the personnel and expertise to build about any tie-in necessary for the project.
Landing Gates Standard landing gates are typically 5' wide by 7'2" tall.  If your project requires something other than standard, Metro's fabricators can design and build the customized landing gates when required.
Customized
Upper Platforms
Sometimes it's impossible to position the base unit so that all upper landings are code compliant and in-line with the elevator car.  If that is your situation, Metro can fabricate and install customized upper platforms necessary to close the gap between the elevator car and the gate.
Steel Base Pad If you lease one of our temporary elevators, it makes sense in most situations to use our engineered steel base pad instead of forming, pouring and finishing then tearing out and disposing of a concrete pad.  The steel base pads we lease are for the 30 passenger Champion Elevators.  We can also design and fabricate a steel base pad for any type and size elevator you may be interested in purchasing.
Gate Electro-mechanical Safety Interlocks To ensure safety and prevent injury, Metro can install and service electro-mechanical safety interlocks on each landing gate.  Electric interlocks are required on permanent installations, and some state and local codes may also require them on temporary installations.
